I recently did a calligraphy piece for a birthday present. My client had a pen & ink drawing of Mark Twain's home in Hartford, CT. She found a quote about "home" in his autobiography and wanted me to do a calligraphy piece using that quote to accompany the drawing, preferrably in Mark Twain's handwriting style.
Mark needed a penmanship lesson or two! I'm sure he had such brilliant things to write he couldn't take the time to write neatly. Here's one of the samples I used to construct my version.
Click on the finished piece and it should come up in a pop up window.
I did clean it up a little bit, but I tried to keep the general flair of his writing. I have a long way to go as a forger!
